ELKHORN CREST TRAIL

Elkhorn Crest Trail:

  • The highest elevation single track in Oregon, and a technical one too!

  • Rated ‘difficult’

  • 1,040 ft accent and 1,065 ft descent

  • 14.2 miles to Summit Lake

  • Ride as out and back or

  • Descend to Summit Lake then to valley via North Powder River Road to Bulger Flat  & Foothill Road pickup (another 14 mi)

  • Marble Pass TH to Bulger Flat/Foothill is 28 miles

 

Directions to Marble Pass Trailhead:

*NOTE: The road up (FS Road 6510) is rough. High clearance, four-wheel drive vehicles strongly recommended. The road is rocky, steep, and narrow, but worth the ride! Shuttles offered!

From Baker City:

  • Highway 30 to northern edge of town to Pocahontas Road.

  • Turn left  (west) on Pocahontas Road and go about 7 miles to the Marble Creek Road (becomes Forest Road 6510).

  • Turn left on Marble Creek Road and go for 9 miles to the top of the ridge to the trailhead.
